Every November, tens of thousands of Year 12 leavers swap the Gold Coast high-rises for Byron’s beaches, cafés and laid-back nights. Byron has no airport of its own - so however you’re getting here, the last leg is an airport transfer. Ballina is the shortest, calmest run into Byron. Gold Coast has the biggest flight network, so it’s the most common inbound - just a longer drive.
