Gold Coast Airport sits at Bilinga, in Queensland. Byron Bay is in New South Wales. From the first Sunday in October until the first Sunday in April, NSW observes daylight saving and Queensland does not — so for roughly half the year the airport runs one hour behind your Byron clock.
